Types of Filters

HME filter (Heat and Moisture Exchanger) and also named as an “artificial nose” which is disposable used for humidifying, heating, filtering the gas come out from breathing machine into patients’ breathing system.

In patients using mechanical ventilation, the upper airway is bypassed by artificial airways, it is unlike normal breathing is the inhaled gas is not filtered before reaching the lungs. HME filter functions as a patient’s nose.

BV filter (Bacterial Viral Filter) filtrates the bacteria in the breathing circuits to avoid ventilator-associated pneumonia. Because more than one patient uses the anesthesia circuit, any microorganisms that may expel the patient in the form of aerosolized droplets or sputum should be prevented from entering the respiratory system.

HMEF filter is a comprehensive connector that incorporates a BV filter and an HME filter. The product simulated the humidification system of the human body to a certain extent, providing high efficiency of thermal insulation and moisturizing, and also filtrate the bacteria

We also provide an HME trach specifically for patients with a tracheotomy. They used to maintain the humidity and temperature of the airway when the tracheotomy patient can be detached or temporarily detached from the respirator. It can be used in conjunction with an oxygen catheter to increase the oxygen concentration of the patient.
